Terms for using this resource

These terms set out the conditions for using insightfuleyeopen.info. They cover what the site is for, how its material may be used, and what it does not promise. By accessing the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

This document is written in plain language, read alongside the Privacy Policy that governs information handling on the site.

How to read this document

Agreement, scope and the role of this site

Insightful Eye Open publishes educational material about nutrition and eye health for readers in Indonesia. The site discusses nutrients such as lutein, zeaxanthin, omega-3 fatty acids and zinc, and explains how the AREDS and AREDS2 formulations are described in published research. It does not sell supplements, and nothing on these pages is offered as medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

Below, the terms are grouped by the question each one answers, so a reader can jump straight to the part that matters. The headings follow the same order as the index band above.

Reading

Anyone may open and read the pages. No account, payment or registration is required to browse the nutrient guides.

Sharing

Linking to a page and quoting a short passage with attribution is welcome for personal and non-commercial use.

Deciding

Choices about diet, supplements or treatment belong with a qualified professional who knows your circumstances.

Purpose of the site

What this resource is, and what it is not

Insightful Eye Open publishes educational information about nutrition and eye health. The content is general in nature and is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. It is not a substitute for consultation with a qualified clinician.

Pages describe nutrients, food sources and published formulations so that a reader can understand the vocabulary used in research summaries. Where a page refers to a study or an organisation, the reference is provided so the reader can look it up directly rather than take our summary on trust.

The site does not diagnose any condition, does not recommend a dose for any individual, and does not replace a consultation. If a symptom worries you, or if you already take medication, speak to a clinician before changing anything in your diet or routine.

The nutrient explanations are written for general readers, not for prescribing.

Acceptable use

Reading, sharing and what stays off limits

You may read, share and link to the site's content for personal and non-commercial purposes.

  • Permitted

Reading the guides, printing a page for your own reference, and sharing a link with a friend, colleague or patient group.

  • Quoting

Short excerpts with a clear credit and a link back to the page you took them from.

  • Not permitted

Reproducing content at scale, reselling it, or presenting our text as your own work, whether on a website, in print or in a paid course.

  • Server load

Automated scraping that places load on the site is not permitted. If you need a large amount of material for research, write to us and we will discuss it.

Photographs and page text on this site are original material unless a page says otherwise.

Intellectual property

Who owns what on these pages

Text and original material published on this site belong to Insightful Eye Open unless otherwise indicated. That covers the written explanations, the page structure, the photography we publish and the illustrations of how nutrients are discussed in research.

References to third-party research or organisations remain the property of their respective owners. Where we summarise a published formulation such as AREDS or AREDS2, the underlying research and any trademarks connected with it stay with the groups that produced them.

If you believe material on the site has been used in a way that infringes your rights, write to us through the contact page with the page address and a short description, and we will look at it.

Republishing a full page, a photo, or a compiled table of nutrients under another name is not allowed, regardless of whether the source is credited.

Where the site stops, and where a clinician begins

Two questions come up often: whether using this site creates any kind of professional relationship, and how current the pages are. They are separate answers, so they are set side by side below.

No professional relationship

Reading is not a consultation

Use of this site does not create a clinician-patient relationship or any other professional relationship. Nothing you read here, and nothing you send us, puts a clinician on your case.

Decisions about supplements, diet or treatment should be made with a qualified professional who knows your circumstances, your history and any other medication you take. Bring our pages to that conversation if they help you ask better questions.

Accuracy and availability

Good faith, not a warranty

We aim to keep the content accurate and current, but we do not warrant that every page is free of error or up to date at all times. Research moves, guidance is revised, and a page written last season may not reflect the latest reading.

The site is provided on an "as available" basis, and access may be interrupted for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, and we do not promise that a page will always reflect the newest publication on its subject.

Everything this site explains can be found on a market table. The written pages exist to help you understand what the produce and the published research actually say.

Food Sources and Everyday Nutrition covers the everyday side in more detail.

Limitation of liability

What we are responsible for, and what we are not

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Insightful Eye Open is not liable for loss or damage arising from reliance on the content of this site. This includes decisions about nutrition or supplementation made without professional advice.

The pages are written to explain what published research says about a nutrient or a formulation. They cannot account for your medical history, your medication, your allergies or your test results, so they cannot be treated as a personal recommendation. A reader who acts on a general page without checking with a clinician does so on their own judgement.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Indonesian law. Where a limitation is not permitted, that clause does not apply to you, and the rest of the document still stands.

Questions about how a limitation applies to a specific use of the site can be sent through the contact page.

In short

  • The pages explain; they do not prescribe for an individual.
  • Bring a page to a clinician rather than acting on it alone.
  • Statutory rights that cannot be waived are unaffected.

Common questions

Points readers usually ask about

Can I quote this site in a newsletter or a class handout?

Yes, for personal and non-commercial use. Keep excerpts short, credit Insightful Eye Open, and link back to the page you used. Reproducing a full page, or building a paid product out of our text and photographs, needs written permission first.

Does reading a nutrient guide count as medical advice?

No. The pages are general education about nutrients, food sources and published formulations. They do not diagnose, treat or replace a consultation, and they cannot see your history or your medication. A qualified professional who knows your circumstances is the right place for a personal decision.

Do these terms cover the privacy policy as well?

They are separate documents that work together. This page covers use of the site and its material; the privacy policy covers how information you send us is handled. If you contact us, read both before writing so you know what to expect.

I found a mistake on one of the pages. What should I do?

Write to us through the contact page with the page and what looks wrong, along with the source you are comparing it to. Corrections are reviewed against the original publication before a page is edited, so please include enough detail for us to check it.
